Getting Plugged In
God is evident all around us, but sometimes we don't know how to respond to His presence or how to experience more of His work in our lives. Paul wrote these words to one of the churches he started: "I keep asking that the God of our LORD Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better." (Ephesians 1:17) That is what we want for each person in our community!
Try This:
- Read your Bible. If you don't have a Bible, pick one up for free at the Welcome Desk.
Not sure where to start? Here is a reading plan to get you going:

Through the New Testament in 5 days a week, 5 minutes a day
- Talk to God about your everyday life and listen to what He wants to say to you. Prayer is a mystery, but it is also simple conversation with our perfect Heavenly Father. One way to pray is to use Scripture, so here is a helpful tool:

There is more to following Jesus than just knowing God. We are to know each other. God created Adam and had a perfect relationship with him. Still, God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone." (Genesis 2:18) Basically, we need each other to experience the full life that Jesus came to give us. We want each person in our community to have a place to belong.
Try This:
- Attend a Welcome Lunch. They are an easy way to meet some new people and to get to know some of the staff at the church. These lunches take place right after church and include great food, good conversation and an introduction to life at Arvada Covenant.
Welcome Lunches are planned for:
March 13, 2011 • May 15th, 2011 • July 10th, 2011
- Join us for worship every Sunday that you can. Don't miss the weekly reunions that help remind us of who we are and why we are here.
- Sign-up for an Inquirer's Class. This class will help you learn more about where our church came from and where it is going. This class is a great way to get to know other new people and to connect with the pastors and staff. It is also the first step in becoming a member of the church.
- Get connected to a small group. For most of our groups, we commit to eleven weeks together and then have several weeks off. Try a group and see if you can make some new spiritual friendships. To check out our small groups, click here:

When you experience the power and presence of God in your life, the supernatural thing to do is share that with the world around you. God calls you by name, forgives you, and then sends you out to a world that needs to know His love. The Bible says, "He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing." (Ephesians 2:10)
