Arvada Covenant Church - Singles Ministry

"Seasoned Singles" Singles Ministry

Mission statement

"We are comprised of small groups of adult singles who desire to glorify the Lord through prayer, fellowship, potluck meals and fun activities."
It's all about Jesus and being brothers and sisters in Christ.

Purpose

To provide a vehicle where adult singles can make friends with other ACC singles in small, informal gatherings and expand friendships with others by rotating small groups every 12 months.
  1. To develop friendships versus acquaintance, members commit to a small group of 6-8 for 9 months (September - May), sharing the"3 P's", potluck, prayer and play, in the name of Jesus.
  2. To make participation affordable for all, each member contributes to each gathering. Members can host in their homes, provide food to share, assist/support communication and provide ideas/tools for simple fun.
  3. Note that small groups are not formed for match-making, gossip or marketing.

How to Join a Singles Small Group

Contact the church office at (303) 422-1235 or Tom Shoup at (303) 234-9841. There will be groups of 6 and will have openings until they have 8 members. New groups will form as needed.

Small Group Guidelines

While "older" singles are being targeted, all adult singles are welcome!
  1. Each group of 6-8 will meet twice each month in homes and set its own gathering dates/times between September and May. The group may decide whether or not to continue meeting in summer (June - August).
  2. Each group will be made up of both men and women, as possible. Individuals make arrangements for child care, if needed.
  3. In the fall (every 12 months), groups of 6 will re-organize, start to meet and then grow to 8 (maximum) as people join the fellowship or are invited by members. Singles interested in joining the fellowship during the year can contact the church or be invited by members when there are openings.
  4. Each group will identify a "contact person" to assist with the communication within the small group and the larger fellowship. The contact person will set up the initial gathering in the fall and be sure all members have contact information.
  5. All ACC participants who want to begin or continue with fellowship will meet at the church once a year in the fall to recommit, re-organize the groups and expand friendships.

Role of Group Members

Singles of all ages are welcomed upon commitment to fellowship's purpose.
  1. Members are asked to commit to the purpose and the small group for 9 months, September - May.
  2. To be affordable for all, members contribute in some way to their group's monthly gatherings in the name of Jesus. Members can host in their homes, provide food to share, assist/support organization and communication and provide ideas/tools for fun (games, conversation, movies, activities, etc.).
  3. NOTE: If a group member has a life or personal issue that requires the member to leave the group, please communicate this with the group, noting whether or not you desire to continue in next rotation. Then another can be invited to fill the "space" if the group has fewer than 8 members.
