SERIES OVERVIEW

SEPTEMBER 7-NOVEMBER 16

People sometimes wonder how a book like Ecclesiastes ended up in the Bible. If you read through the book, you are constantly reminded of the “meaninglessness” of life. Vanity, vanity all is vanity. Or meaningless, meaningless, all is meaningless.

Yet, Ecclesiastes is an important book. The author, King Solomon, was the wisest man in the world. He looks around his community and the world that he is a part of and reflects on the purpose of all of this. Why all the suffering, uncertainty, and chasing after things that ultimately don't bring meaning? It begs the question of how God’s people are to live in this kind of world.

This series will take us on a tour of life--work and play, wealth and possessions, wisdom and productivity - and calls us to live from the vantage point of life’s most poignant perspective: the end.
